Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 January 2025  ·  TypeGlobal

TypeGlobal ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website at this domain. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.

1. Information We Collect

TypeGlobal is a fully client-side, serverless application. We do not operate any backend servers, databases, or user accounts. We collect no personally identifiable information (PII) directly.

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data, which may include:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Browser type, operating system, and device category
  • Approximate geographic region (country / city level)
  • Referring URL and search terms
  • Session duration and bounce rate

This data is aggregated and anonymised. We cannot identify individual users from GA4 data.

2. Typing Data

All typing test data (your keystrokes, speed metrics, and results) is processed entirely within your browser. No keystroke data, WPM scores, or test results are ever transmitted to any server. Once you close or refresh the page, all data is discarded.

3. Cookies

We use cookies solely through Google Analytics. GA4 sets first-party cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_XXXXXXXX) to distinguish users and sessions. These cookies do not contain personally identifiable information.

You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4. Third-Party Services

We load the following external resources, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics 4 — Google Privacy Policy
  • Google Fonts — fonts loaded via Google CDN; no cookies set
  • jsDelivr CDN — serves Chart.js; no tracking cookies set

5. Data Retention

GA4 data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted from Google's servers. We have no access to raw event-level data beyond the aggregated reports in Google Analytics.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. As we collect no PII directly, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. For GA4 data, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy and your Google Account settings.

7. Children's Privacy

TypeGlobal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through our site, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
